Apple ‘Time Flies’ 2020 live blog

Apple has announced one of its usual fall events, but this event is unusual for Apple. Instead of leading with iPhones in September, all expectations are that they’ll arrive in October.

This month, as hinted in the “Time Flies” announcement, we’re expecting Apple Watches. In fact, there may even be two of them: the Apple Watch Series 6 and a new lower-cost version. The headline feature is rumored to be blood oxygen monitoring on the top-tier models, while the inexpensive models might be given the “SE” moniker.

Apple is also expected to announce a new version of the iPad Air that follows the design of the iPad Pro. That will mean thinner, smaller bezels with rounded corners on the screen. It will also mean Apple has to decide what biometrics to include — Face ID or Touch ID — and where to put that scanner. Best guess right now is it’ll be on the power button.

There could be more: a late-breaking rumor suggests there might be a new regular iPad as well. AirTags are still floating around the rumor mill, and Apple itself has been leaking references to an “Apple One” bundle for its growing selection of subscription services. We’ve rounded up everything we are expecting here.

The event kicks off at 1PM ET / 10AM PT, and we’ll be live-blogging it below. We hope you’ll watch along with us!
